Catalyst Global Media, the London production company led by Charlotte Walls, is to make a movie based on poet and novelist Owen Sheers’ verse-drama “Pink Mist,” which explores the human cost of modern warfare, inspired by interviews with soldiers and their families.
Sheers said: “The ongoing issue of the shadows cast by conflict into civilian lives is one that is ever more pressing. I hope the film will contribute meaningfully to a counter narrative that re-humanizes the suffering of those caught in the wake of a psychological or physical wounding.”
“Great films always start with great material, and we know we have this with ‘Pink Mist,’” Walls said. “Telling the powerful story of ‘Pink Mist’ through a cinematic lens will allow audiences to connect… and react in ways they had not before and this is very attractive to us as creative storytellers.”
